The NYCHA Journal: HPD, NYCHA & HDC Announce Plans & Partners for 200 Affordable Senior Homes in Brooklyn
June 23, 2023 The Weeksvillage project by CAMBA Housing Ventures (CHV) aims to mitigate New York City’s acute housing shortage by developing approximately 200 affordable homes for seniors on underused NYCHA land in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights. This initiative, part of the city’s Senior First strategy, is notable for its inclusion of 60 homes for formerly homeless individuals and 35 for NYCHA residents. Beyond offering affordable living spaces, Weeksvillage is set to enhance the community with health screenings, senior and community teaching kitchens, a food pantry, and a center for workforce development and small business support.
