New Blueprint Shows How Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Can Expand Affordable Housing
February 07, 2024 by The Underserved Mortgage Markets Coalition is made up of 32 US affordable housing organizations with the goal of holding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – known as Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs) accountable in bringing financing opportunities to families that are overlooked by the private market. The group recently came out with a blueprint of recommendations to address how the GSEs can help the affordability crisis. The recommendations include: Home-Only Loan Pilots, Serving Native American Markets, and Shared Equity Homeownership.
