Link: China’s Green Triumph

China’s dominance in low-cost solar panels, wind turbines, batteries, and electric vehicles is accelerating the adoption of clean energy in developing countries while the United States withdraws from climate policy and Europe debates the speed of its green transition. With billions of dollars in Chinese investment, nations like Brazil, India, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Nepal, and Nigeria are quickly expanding renewable energy, electrifying transportation, and even developing their own clean-tech manufacturing hubs. Even though fossil fuels still account for the majority of the world’s energy consumption, China’s exports and financing have reduced the cost and increased accessibility of renewable energy, enabling emerging economies to lessen their reliance on imported fuel, bolster their own industries, and meet the rising demand for energy without following the West’s polluting development path. This change is crucial because the majority of the world’s population lives in developing nations, and their choices will determine whether or not the world can achieve climate stability.
