By submerging servers in the ocean, the facility utilizes seawater for cooling, reducing cooling energy demand to under 10 percent compared to the typical 50 percent. The project’s design reduces overall energy consumption by 22.8% and land use by over 90%, making it a model of environmental efficiency. The data center’s initial 24-megawatt capacity marks just the start — its developers have already announced plans for a much larger 500-megawatt offshore expansion powered by renewable energy.
