Link: Chicago Residents Sue City Over Inaccessible Sidewalks

Disability rights activists in the City of Chicago have organized a class action lawsuit against the city for its failure to comply with its own standards for care of sidewalks. This comes after the city was successfully sued last year and agreed to install more ramps in Chicago. But now some of this infrastructure is decaying and becoming unusable. They are arguing that the reactive, and complaint-based system needs to be changed to a more proactive approach which would be in line with the original Daniel Burnham plan of the city.
