Biden administration awards $85 mln to ease affordable housing development
June 26, 2024 by 21 states and local governments have been awarded $85 million in housing funds as part of a new program to help them get rid of barriers to housing development as well as preserve affordable housing in their area. Launched in 2023, HUD’s Pathways to Removing Obstacles (PRO) to Housing program will help state and local governments update their housing plans and land use policies as well as speed up the permit process for new developments.
