Launched in 2021, the program sponsors ULI Technical Assistance Panels and post-panel efforts to help cities and real estate stakeholders create actionable decarbonization strategies. This year’s cohort includes projects in New Orleans, Seattle, Bristol, Richmond, Melbourne, Shanghai, Nashville, and Portland, addressing issues such as decarbonizing small commercial buildings, advancing mass timber development, enabling neighborhood-scale retrofits, bridging policy and implementation gaps, standardizing embodied carbon measurement, inspiring net-zero affordable housing, and promoting grid-interactive buildings. The cohort meets regularly to share best practices, with findings disseminated through reports and events to support global net-zero goals.
